Life’s a beach…

Sometimes only a sustained spell on a stunning beach can cure your ailing limbs and recharge your batteries, but which are the best?

Craving a sunny getaway to recharge your batteries? Sometimes a sustained spell of sunshine on a stunning beach can be just the answer. Whether you want to party the night away with some friends on a beautiful island, admire the most magnificent sunsets or get stuck into a book in the shade, beaches may just be the solution to all of your holiday needs. We’ve got you covered with our top picks in Europe:

Ibiza

One of the most favoured party destinations in the world, Ibiza is home to many beautiful beaches and the most stunning surroundings. If you’re looking to party the night – or day – away alongside a busy strip of cafes and bars, Las Salinas is the place for you. If you’re after some relaxation time in a slightly quieter and more chilled location, the pristine clear waters and soft sand of Cala Xuclar is calling your name.

France

The south of France – and particularly the likes of Cannes, Nice and Antibes – is perhaps best known for perpetual sunshine and fantastic beachfronts. If you’re taking a trip along the coast here, ensure to factor in some time to spend at Villefranche-Sur-Mer to treat yourself to some of the most magnificent views of the ocean. A fantastic find that should be very much at the top of your bucket list…

Croatia

Easily recognisable to Game of Throne fans as a now-iconic filming location, Dubrovnik holds the key to some of the most remarkable beaches on offer in Croatia. Jump on a boat trip and make your way to Sunji Beach, secluded in a cove on towards the south-eastern edge of the island of Lopud. Offering fantastic, rustic views and an ideal destination for families to enjoy a hike or a swim for at least an afternoon – well worth the trip from the mainland.

Italy

The island of Sardinia features some of the most attractive beaches in Italy. If you’re looking for gorgeous scenery with lots of activities on offer, Spiaggia di Tuerredda is a great option – and it’s one of the top snorkelling destinations in the area. If you’re more of a land explorer and want to embrace some more active sightseeing in your holiday, take a short swim, or hire a boat, and head across to the marvellous island of Isola di Tuerredda, well within reach of the main beach.

Portugal

The Algarve, Portugal’s southernmost region, is known for its warm, inviting beaches and breath-taking scenery, carved magnificently by the ocean over time. This is no truer than of Praia da Benagil, a long-standing favourite with local residents as well as explorers looking to make the most of the summer sunshine and uncover the mysteries of the sea caves. With outstanding yellow sand and awe-inspiring photo opportunities of the cliffs and rock formations, the allure of this area is timeless and palpable.
